What this means in practice
Fretline is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Every “See it on Amazon” button on this site is an affiliate link. If you follow one and buy something, we may receive a commission from Amazon. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly — the commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not out of your pocket.
What it does not change
It does not change the scores. Editorial ratings are set from the specification and the price bracket, and every product page carries criticisms alongside its buy button. Several instruments we link to have faults we describe plainly — sharp fret ends, tuning instability, pickups we would replace — because that is the information you actually need before spending money.
It does not change which products appear. Instruments enter the catalogue because they are worth documenting, and we publish what we find, including when what we find is unflattering.
Where the links go
Each of the 10 instruments in the catalogue has exactly one outbound affiliate link, pointing at that specific product listing on Amazon US. The same link is used on every button for that product across the site — on its review, in the comparator, in the guides and on the deals page. We do not substitute generic Amazon links, and we do not redirect through intermediaries.
Outbound links are marked rel="sponsored nofollow" and open in a new tab, which is both the Amazon requirement and the honest signal to search engines.
Prices
We do not display prices on this site. Amazon prices change constantly and vary by seller and region, and a stale figure would mislead you. The deals page explains this in full. Follow any link for the current price and availability.
