The short version
Gem Archer's signature Sheraton is modelled on his 1966 original, and the specification list reads like a Gibson rather than an Epiphone in the places that count. The pickups are genuine USA-made Gibson mini humbuckers: narrower coils than a full-size humbucker, so they keep single-coil clarity and top-end detail while retaining humbucking noise rejection — the sound that made 1960s Epiphones and Les Paul Deluxes distinctive. Behind them sit CTS 500K pots, Mallory capacitors and Switchcraft switching and jack, which is where budget semi-hollows usually cut corners. The body is 5-ply layered maple and poplar with a solid maple centre block, giving the resonance of a hollow instrument without the feedback that limits one, and the neck is a one-piece mahogany 1960s C, glued in rather than bolted. A Graph Tech nut and Grover Rotomatics handle tuning stability, and a hardshell case is included.

The verdict
This is the rare left-handed instrument that is not a compromise. Left-handed players are usually offered a thinner catalogue at worse specifications; here the lefty version carries the same USA Gibson pickups, the same gold hardware and the same case as the right-handed model. The mini humbuckers are the reason to buy it — chiming and articulate where full-size humbuckers thicken, and ideal for the layered, jangly end of British rock the model was built for. It is expensive for an Epiphone, and if you want an all-purpose high-gain guitar this is not it. For anyone chasing that specific 1960s semi-hollow voice, and especially for a left-handed player, it is an unusually complete package.
