The short version
Spruce top over mahogany back and sides is the combination most acoustic guitars have used for a century, and there is a reason: spruce is stiff and light so it converts string energy efficiently and gives the bright, clear attack the instrument is known for, while mahogany underneath adds warmth and controls the low end. Doing it all-solid, as here, is what separates a keeper from a starter. The OM body is smaller than a dreadnought, which trades a little raw volume for a more even response and a body that is genuinely comfortable to sit with — the reason it is the shape many players end up preferring. Bone nut and saddle, Elixir coated strings and a case are all included.

The good and the bad
What we like
- All-solid spruce and mahogany, the classic and most predictable acoustic pairing
- OM body is comfortable to hold and even across the range
- Bone nut and saddle, Elixir coated strings and a case included
- Standard 43 mm nut width will feel familiar from any other steel-string
What we do not
- Less raw volume and low-end push than a dreadnought
- House-brand ovangkol hardware rather than ebony
- Owner review volume is still low

What owners and reviewers report
Patterns we found across published reviews and owner feedback. These are summaries of recurring themes — we do not reproduce or invent individual testimonials.
What comes up most
- Owners praise the all-solid construction and the resulting tone for the price
- The included case and coated strings are noted as good value
Frequent complaints
- A small number of owners mention wanting a wider nut for fingerstyle
Recognised strengths
- All-solid construction with bone hardware is consistently seen as the reason to choose it
Recognised weaknesses
- Review volume is low enough that consistency between examples is unproven
The verdict
If you want one all-solid acoustic that does everything, this is the sensible pick of the Core range: spruce over mahogany is the safe, proven voice, and the OM body suits both strumming and fingerpicking without excelling at only one. The 43 mm nut is standard width, so it will feel familiar coming from almost any other guitar. Compared with the all-mahogany Core-DC it is brighter and more articulate; compared with the blackwood models it is more conventional and easier to predict. Owner reviews are still few, which is the one real unknown.

Strings for this guitar
All stringsIt ships with Elixir Phosphor Bronze Nanoweb Light (.012-.053). Staying at that gauge keeps the setup and the neck relief as the factory left them; going a step lighter makes bending easier, a step heavier gives more volume and tension. Anything more than one step either way usually needs the truss rod and the intonation adjusted.
