The right buy for a bass that needs real protection and will mostly travel by car or live in storage, and the neck support in the accessory compartment is the detail that matters most: an unsupported bass neck in a case is how headstocks get broken. It is heavy, and a long-scale bass in a wood case is a genuinely awkward thing to carry any distance. Check your instrument's outline before ordering - bass bodies vary far more than Stratocasters do, and a case that fits a Precision may not fit something with a longer horn.
